There are some punctuation rules about first letters at the beginning of sentences. I'm sure you've seen that rule broken many times in poetry. There's the capitalization of proper names and nouns. I amuse myself by caps on the first letter of every word in my titles. I do it just because I can. Caps place a certain emphasis on particular words and draws the eye to those words for whatever reason. I'm sure there will be more technical explanations for the rules. The fun part of writing sometimes is breaking the rules or making your own rules.
