Northern Mainland Michigan Activities and Attractions!?

Ugh, I love nature and all but seriously... Lewiston sucks! There is NOTHING to do! We're heading to Traverse City tomorrow and I was curious if there was a REAL museum anywhere, not a house sized piece of crap. I'm talking dinosaurs, animal habitats, Indians, pilgrims, IMax theater, gift shop, live butterfly exhibit and an activity center! You know like the museum in Milwaukee! Or maybe something like the three domes... Everything around here is cheap and so fake, how is anyone supposed to learn anything. Heck, I'd even like to know of a decent zoo! FEED MY BRAIN!!! Are there any places like that in or near Traverse!?
