Help my car is stuck on a lift!!! Please?

hello all. my boyfriend just took our car to his shop to do a trans fluid change and rear brakes. well he used this lift with 4 feet that you can position around and the lift uses hydrolics. well it went up fine but it wont go down now it will go down a little bit but it stop and one side starts to go down. he did everything right almost breaking his hand pulling the safty lever to disenguage the locks. please help. i have to work monday and i miss my car!!
