Will my son ever quit wetting the bed?

My 12 year old son is still wetting the bed. He is a very deep sleeper! We have tried waking him up in the middle of the night, and using an alarm with neither working. I would like to try different options like urology appt. with a doctor, diet, food allergies, etc. Does anyone out there have some good advice for me. I live near Traverse City, MI and am willing to travel to a good doctor who specializes in this if needed. We don't have any pediatric urologists up here! Everyone tells me..."he'll grow out of it"...well he's not. Any advice is accepted, Thanks. NJ
